Today I was getting ready to volunteer at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. I didn't eat breakfast this morning because I didn't want to feel sluggish. Cyp said to dress plain, NO fancy hairstyle, CHECK, NO cute clothes, CHECK, NO "poppin" lip gloss,CHECK. Ok, I thought I'm ready to volunteer! or so i thought. I met up with Cyp and Julian at the A.C.R.M. and went straight to the kitchen. After formalities, we went to work. we all had different tasks in assembling breakfast sandwiches. I was helping a wonderful woman name Carol, whose task was to assemble the egg and cheese sandwiches. I was last on the line, my task was to wrap up the sandwiches, but i was soo slow! It seemed for everyone that I wrapped Carol had three more waiting for me! somehow, I managed and we finished with time to spare. Next we served lunch. Julian plated the spaghetti, Cyp added the sauce, and I added the string beans. Everything went smoothly. while we were serving, I shared with Cyp and Julian that I'd been at the Rescue Mission before. Cyp thought I meant as a volunteer, to his surprise, I informed him that I came to the rescue mission as a young girl to eat. As I stood there and served food I thought back to that time. I remembered standing in line and waiting to eat. I remember walking up, grabbing a tray and taking a plate. I also recall sitting down and hoping that what I was about to eat would taste good. I started to feel tears well up as I looked at the faces in the dining room. I thought of how I was helped and now I'm helping others. I came full circle. I just hope one day they will be as fortunate as I was to go from eating at the mission to serving at the mission. ~ Priscilla, 2010 MissInkAmerica.com

Pageant Day:
I woke up at 4am, put on my high heels and practiced my routines. I practiced for two hours. I logged on to Facebook to make some last minute comments about the pageant. I was still tired so I laid down and went back to sleep. I woke up at 10am and got dressed. I went to the Walk to get some last minute accessories. While I was shopping I drank a Naked protein drink, I had to put something in my stomach. As the time pasted, I started to feel anxious. I returned home, showered and packed. I arrived at Harrah’s at 2:45pm. I went up to the hotel room where some of the other contestants were staying. We all stayed in the room until it was time for stage rehearsal. At stage rehearsal, I could feel myself starting to stress. I had never been to the Pool before. The air was thick with humidity. Stage rehearsal made me pensive, I was so glad it was over. But now it was 5:30pm and my hair and make-up wasn’t done. I was now fully nervous. I rushed back up to the hotel room gathered all of my things and came downstairs to the Loft(an upstairs area in the Pool). I was the first one to have my hair and make-up started by the salon sponsor Art Is…, in that I found a little relief. Then K.Butler joined me and started getting her hair done. It seemed like forever before the other contestants came down. When I was told that we had only half an hour left, my nerves shot through the roof. My stomach was in knots and it felt like I had to vomit. After I got dressed I tried to distract myself with everyone around me but everyone was in the zone. It seemed like I was the only one that was nervous. I freaked out trying to make sure the dj played the right song. The first category was club wear. My hands were numb because I was so nervous. I was 3rd to come out. I heard my music and that was it. I hit all the marks and executed my routine. The second category was lingerie, it came and went. I was unhappy because the dj cut my song twenty seconds short. The third category was cocktail wear. As we all waited on stage, I was thinking how grateful I was to have participated in such an unique event. Right before they announced the top three, I already had two ladies in mind who I thought would make it: Heather & K.Butler. So first Heather is announced and I thought ‘of course’, next Kristy is announced and I was surprised and thought ‘hmm, ok’ then my name is announced as the third person. I was happy and satisfied. I knew that I had placed and would be getting a prize. So then it was time to announce the very first missinkamerica.com, as I was standing there I was thinking ‘ok let me get ready to step back and let Heather shine’. While I was smiling at Heather, I squeezed Kristy's arm with excitement. Then my name is announced and I am like ‘WHAT!?!’. I wasn’t expecting to hear my name and was shocked. I wasn’t thinking about winning. All I was trying to do was represent the missinkamreica.com pageant in the best way I could. The only word the stayed in my head throughout that day was Showmanship. BUT now that I do have the title, u ain’t seen nothing yet! ~ Priscilla, 2010 MissInkAmerica.com

Today we went the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. I must say that it was an experience that i will remember. Everyone knows poverty runs ramped in the United States, but once you realize it, then see it first hand it changes your perspective. Though it hit me in the corazon, it wasn't a sad experience at all, actually it was quite fun. The kitchen staff at A.C.R.M. were hilarious, jokes and shots were taken all day long(of course M.I.A. came out on top). Though I have to say, between the three of us we had to crack like 400 eggs. It was though, anything to help the community around me. I'm happy that M.I.A. had the opportunity to help provide the less fortunate with full bellies and hearts full of hope....I'm Six'5...deuces |

WHAT A NIGHT! One of the best experiences of my 24 year old life lol. The day started out very hectic with Bruce, Ian, and myself running around Wal-mart and Target looking for last minute supplies like walkie talkies, which we couldn't hear in The Pool Anyway haha...After packing up my Scion TC with all our M.I.A.com gear around 12pm, I headed out to Harrah's to round up our Ink Mates, start rehearsal and go over protocol. Everyone got real excited when the Pool crew started assembling the stage, and we immediately put the ladies to work to get them familiar with dimensions and surroundings. By 4pm we were all buzzing around Harrahs, felt like I was competing in a scavenger hunt lol..we didn't even have time to grab something to eat, well except some cheese crackers and cookies lol...By 6pm, The Lighting was dim and we all knew it was SHOWTIME. The Ladies were in The Loft getting their hair and make-up done, dressing for the first round, CLUB WARE, and taking pictures with the M.I.A.com crew and family members. 7pm was FINALLY HERE and fans began to filter through The Pool doors, The judges took their seats, and the contestants put their game faces on for this ground-breaking event! Ladies you looked STUNNING! Thank you for all your hard work, remember you are a part of history now. Lets continue to grow as a family and change the world!....O YEAAA, and the WINNER isss......the LOVELY Priscilla Noel!!!!!! OUR 2010 MissInkAmerica.com, Congratulations Priscilla, U R The 1!!..See you in September when we crown the next one....SwiGGz
